(AP)—http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2007/10/24/politics/p210407D98.DTL A national environmental group that recently endorsed Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards will begin airing a radio ad Thursday praising him. The ad by Friends of the Earth Action intersperses audio of Edwards describing his goal of reducing carbon emissions by at least 80 percent by 2050 with the voice of an announcer who hails his "courage to lead on global warming." "John Edwards: Alone among the candidates in asking something of us," the announcer says, followed by audio of Edwards saying he would ask people to conserve energy in their homes and drive more fuel-efficient vehicles. The Washington, D.C.-based Friends of the Earth Action is the political arm of Friends of the Earth. The 60-second spot will air for one week on stations in Concord, Manchester and the seacoast region. "John Edwards has set the pace among presidential candidates on global warming, and among the leading Democratic candidates, he has the best, most comprehensive global warming program," said Brent Blackwelder, president of both organizations.
