MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.—Republican presidential hopeful John McCain spent over an hour talking with Google employees in a town-hall style forum at the Internet company’s Mountain View headquarters on Friday.
The Arizona Senator did not hesitate to criticize President Bush on several issues, including global warming.
"If there is a criticism that I have with the Bush administration domestically, it's our failure to act on this issue. My friends, it's a matter of time and I don't know where the tipping point is," McCain said.
McCain went on to say that in his travels of the world he has seen first-hand the effects of global warming, and if elected he wouldn’t take the matter lightly. "Nuclear power has to be part of any equation if we're going to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and we're going to reduce our dependence on foreign oil," he said.
When asked if he was personally doing anything to shrink his carbon footprint, McCain answered that he has solar panels on his house, and plans to buy his daughter a hybrid car.
