GLOBAL WARMING WORKSHOP

What can you do about global warming?

On July 14th, to help prepare citizens to increase the profile of global change on the presidential agenda, the Conservation Voters of South Carolina and the Geology and Environmental Geosciences Department at the College of Charleston will host a climate change workshop. South Carolina's diverse environments have started to respond to human induced climate changes.

Presidential leadership is vital to reduce the projected climate change impacts to our state, the nation, and the world. South Carolina voters are in a special position to raise the issues of climate change and global warming with the presidential candidates.

This workshop will enable citizens to better increase the awareness of climate change and global warming within the South Carolina presidential primaries. The workshop includes a politic and scientific overview of global change, a brief film, and a round-table discussion about how to raise this issue's profile with candidates, the media, and our communities.

That was Senator Maria Cantwell (D - WA) summarizing the opening half of National Clean Energy Summit 2.0. She was of course talking about T. Boone Pickens, the former oil giant and current proprietor of natural gas. Read More
