This is your chance to take make your case to the nation's next president. Send us a 30 second video with your best message to compel the next president to make global warming a priority.

The winning video will receive two tickets and airfare to the hottest show on the planet - the Live Earth concert in New York on July 7th! Also, the winning submission will be sent to all of the presidential candidates.

Dust off your video camera. Hone your editing skills. Make it personal. And tell the next president of United States why we need to solve global warming.

CONTEST RULES 

· Read rules, agree to rules and conditions and register at The League of Conservation Voters page at: www.heatison.org/hotspot.
· Create video and submit by June 25, 2007.
· LCV will screen and select finalists for the contest
· The winner will be announced and prizes distributed, June 28, 2007.
· The winner will receive two tickets to the Live Earth Concert at the Meadowlands on July 7, 2007 and will be eligible for up to $1000 in airfare to the event. The tickets to this event cannot be sold for any amount.
· You must over the age of 14 to make a film for this video contest. If you are less than 18 years of age, you must have parental consent at the time of registration.
· There is no cost to enter this contest.
· You must reside in the United States. Contest void where prohibited by law.
· Participation means you fully agree and accept these Official Rules.
· Any confusion over or disputes over these rules will be settled by members of the League of Conservation Voters staff. Please send any questions via email to info@lcv.org.
· Contestants must read these Official Rules and agree to them before they register by submitting a video.
· The videos will be screened for suitability and finalists will be notified by June 25, 2007. League of Conservation Voters staff will narrow it down to finalists. Each contestant may submit as many videos as he or she chooses.
· Videos may not contain crude language or content, including but not limited to: nudity, foul language, immoral or generally unacceptable behavior. Inappropriate submissions will be discarded without being used or considered. Videos that contain content that support or oppose one or more candidates will be discarded. The goal of the contest is to encourage all of the candidates, without regard to political party or any other factors, to take effective positions on global warming and energy issues. In order to be considered, all submissions must be nonpartisan and directed to all candidates.
· Videos must be less than 1 minute. Anything longer will be disqualified automatically.
· You must be the sole author and copyright owner of the video entry, and must have permission (via license or otherwise) to use or incorporate those entry portions authored or owned by third parties. Uses of images and works in the public domain may be incorporated into entries. However, materials which infringe on the rights of any third party may not be used. IF YOU USE CONTENT THAT YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO USE, YOUR ENTRY MAY BE DISQUALIFIED.
· By entering the Contest, you acknowledge that League of Conservation Voters receives exclusive right, title, and interest in the video submitted by you for the contest, and any modifications, derivations or improvements thereof, including any and all intellectual property rights therein. You represent and warrant that you have sole and exclusive right, title and interest to such submitted video. In connection with the foregoing, you agree to assign, and hereby do assign, all intellectual property rights in such submitted video to League of Conservation Voters.
· The prize winner will be notified prior to a public announcement of the winner.
· By registering, you agree that League of Conservation Voters is not responsible or liable for, and shall be released and held harmless from:
1. Telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind;
2. Any conditions caused by events beyond the control of League of Conservation Voters that may cause this contest to be disrupted or corrupted;
3. Any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Contest;
4. Any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with or resulting from participation in this contest, acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. Contestants participating in this contest are liable for any copyright infringements caused by their videos. Contestants may only use images and sound that is not copyrighted.
