New Hampshire Poll Results
Attention presidential candidates: New Hampshire primary voters care deeply about global warming.
That's the result of a recent poll showing that among both Democratic and Republican primary voters in the Granite State there is widespread awareness of, concern about and belief in the seriousness of the problem posed by global warming. Or in other words, global warming is a top priority issue for the highly coveted voters in this early voting primary state.
The statewide New Hampshire poll, conducted by the Mellman Group, surveyed 400 likely 2008 Democratic presidential primary voters and 400 likely 2008 Republican presidential primary voters.
According to the poll, 95 percent of Democratic primary voters, and 79 percent of Republican primary voters, believe that global warming is a reality this is either happening now or will happen in the future. Additionally, a supermajority of voters in both parties say that global warming already constitutes a serious threat today. Furthermore, there is remarkably broad and deep support among all primary voters for U.S. action to reduce carbon emissions - 90 percent of Democratic voters favor such action and 75 percent of Republican voters do.
Clearly, this is an issue that primary voters in New Hampshire are very concerned about and want to hear the candidates talk about when they come stumping for votes in the state.
